A Love Spell to Cast on YourSelf

Gather Together:

  • A white candle and a pink one
  • A small hand mirror
  • A small doll that resembles you in as many ways as possible (one you made yourself is best. You can make it from rags or yarn, sticks, or anything that appeals to you, but keep it simple.)
  • lavender and Basil, about half a teaspoon of each
  • Oil, about a quarter cup (mineral oil or unscented massage oil is fine)
  • Three strings or cords in colors that you personally have always liked (embroidery floss works well)
Place all of these items on your altar (if you don't have an altar, use a place that is especially yours, such as the top of your dresser or desk). Set the candles up on either side, with the pink on the left and the white on the right.
  Prop the mirror up behind these, so that it is facing you, and sit the doll against it, between the candles. Place the oil in a cup at the doll's feet, and sprinkle the lavender and basil in it.

Light the pink candle. The energy running through this candle is the Love flowing from the Earth and the Universe into You.

Light the white candle; the energy running through this candle is the Love flowing from your heart, out into the Earth and the Universe.

Begin repeating the following chant over and over:
"I am a beautiful and perfect child of all that is."
Keep repeating this until you pass through all of the following emotional stages you will pass through as you do so:

  1. Disbelief/Ridicule
  2. Anger/Hurt
  3. Confusion/Dizziness
When you are no longer sure what you are saying and the words begin to echo in your head like a meaningless wind, stop and listen to this wind for a moment.

Sink to your knees before your altar so that you are facing the doll and the mirror. Look at the doll and say, "You are the child of my heart, and you are everything I ever dreamed you would be."

Take the three colored cords and braid them tightly until you have made two braids, one long enough to tie around your wrist, and one long enough to tie around the doll's wrist. Make bracelets for yourself and the doll, and knot them neatly around each of your right wrists.

Dip your finger in the herbed oil and touch the doll's forehead, saying, "Wisdom." Touch oil to the doll's heart and say, "Peace." Touch the oil to your own forehead and say, "Beauty." Stroke oil over your heart and say, "Love."

You may put the candles out or leave them to burn down. If you leave them, make sure you do not leave them unattended! If you blow them out, put your left palm behind the pink candle and blow the flame's energy into your palm. Place your right hand behind the white candle and blow that flame's energy into your right palm. You may use these candles at another time for a ritual having to do with loving yourself (such as a hot bubble bath with tea!)

Keep the doll in a special place where you can see it, preferably as you are getting dressed and ready for each day. Keep wearing the bracelet you made until it falls off of its own accord. When it does, you will be ready for [the Second Spell].
